An important first step is to choose the ear tips that best fit your ear size best because to get the best sound and most secure seating, the ear tips must completely seal over your ear canal. As in, no “ON” “OFF” or “BLUETOOTH CONNECTED” voice. I listen to many genre of music and the sound output is remarkable. When on a call they default to mono sound, but there is still some echo. The only complaint I have is, at times the left headphone will drop out of sync. The left headphone can’t be used without the right one. This is a great sounding unit. This is a drawback for me because I like to use my headphones for phone calls too. Unfortunately, I will continue to use my wired apple earbuds for hands-free communications. I have used a number of wireless headphones over the years and these JBL’s have so far been one of my favorites! The earbuds won’t tell you but the case does have an indicator but it’s for the case not the buds. The JBL Free are decent mixed-usage truly wireless in-ears, with an above-average sound quality. This is a very effective design because it minimizes the risk of loss of the headphones by compelling you to habitually store the them in the case. The gel sleeves come in medium and large. I would have enjoyed these earbuds better if JBL had removed the lip. Im quite impressed by its charging base which also serves as a case which is so convenient. The LED indicators on the earbuds and the battery glow when you return the earbuds to the case. - My biggest issue is you can not control the volume from the earbuds. I am basing this review from my experience with several pair of True Wireless In-Ear headphones. User rating, 4 out of 5 stars with 1494 reviews. The designers really did their homework and made something unique, fun, and portable. It seems that the left and right unit must be kept very close together or they will lose their connection. Best Budget JBL Headphones. - On that note, there is not great way to tell what the battery level is at. Many attempts at resetting the unit made no difference for me. I love the clamshell storage and charging case. Even a voice prompt for pairing mode would be helpful. 7.1. The JBL Frees do produce solid bass. Most recently, while charging in the case the headphones will randomly connect to my phone and stay connected, thus draining their battery and the charging case's battery so when I go to use them, they are both DEAD and the headphones only last about 90 minutes before they start to die after a full charge. The multi-function button takes some getting used too, but feels solid and reliably controls the headphones. The four LED indicators will tell you how much power is left in the battery to make it easy to tell when you need to recharge the case. They look tight and really form-fitting. I would say these should be at the top of your list for in ear headphones, and with Best Buy's return policy you can always return them if you find they aren't what you were looking for. It could be just a poor connection with the Netflix server, but there was just the slightest of lags between what you saw and the sound you heard. - Touch controls

Listening to a phone call is mono; right earbud only. My only inconvenience is that somehow the left ear headphone sometimes disconnects and I would need to do the pairing again. JBL is known for making good headphones and I am happy to say that this is a great pair of true wireless earbuds. Once I figured out to keep them in close proximity of each other, this issue was minimized. 4 hours is just enough to get me through to my lunch break – at which time I return them to the charging case. Let’s get into it. The wireless range is appropriate (about 30 feet from my phone). Be sure to check with JBL before cleaning. They sound great, are very comfortable to wear, and the wireless design makes them perfect for taking on the go. Let's talk more about them and why I found them to be great. Let’s get the minor quibbles out … I estimate the time it takes for you to press play on your phone to when you hear music or a video is about 2.5 seconds. Not sure if Best Buy will allow it. The person on the other end reported that I sounded far away and was difficult to hear. I found that I needed the extra girth in my ear canal to hold the earbuds in place. The earbuds seem big in the hand but hide well in the ear. The earbuds of the JBL TUNE 220TWS true wireless earphones are hard plastic, each with a 40mm long bar poking out to the front. The earbuds plug into the case and draw power from the built-in battery. Other earbuds I've had I felt like I was always adjusting so they don't fall out. Lastly, the case is the best thing ever! I'd have to turn it on/off and repeatedly put in/remove from the charging case until it connected and illuminated which was a pain in the butt. They also offer enough music to keep me in the workout zone. The hard case and right and left headphones function as an integrated system. Sometimes, the fix was easy; turn off the earbuds and resync. The right one can be used by itself, if you only want to use one, but the left one can’t be used independently. I believe that JBL is 100% aware of how huge these earbuds are. I then played Lindsey Stirling’s Electric Daisy Violin. These earbuds are useless to me for hands free communications. JBL did an amazing job with the presentation of these earbuds. They need to be lightweight and comfortable, have a good battery life and be able to work in extreme environments.
